Robotics & Automated Systems -Level 1

This training is designed to equip you with the skills you need to build basic robots and automated systems. You will learn about basic electronics elements, sensors, actuators and microcontroller and be able to use them to build devices that operate with little or no human intervention. At the end of the training, you will understand how robots senses and respond to it’s environment using sensors and actuators. You will also learn the principle behind automated systems using a hands-on project approach.

Get started with robotics with this course. Course contents include:

• Introduction to robotics (Definition, application and types)
• Robots anatomy
• Overview of voltage, current and resistance
• Measuring with digital multi-meter
• Prototyping and testing circuits with Breadboard
• Basic electronics components (Resistor, diode and transistors)
• Hands-on Project 1 (Dark activated switch)
• Hands-on Project 2 (water level detector)
• Sensors 1 –Infrared Proximity sensor, Water sensor
• Actuators 1 –DC Motor, pump
• Microcontroller, microprocessor and development board (1)
• Arduino board and it’s IDE
• Hardware connection, programming and uploading
• Interfacing LED (Including RGB LED module) with arduino board
• Interfacing 7-Segment display with arduino board
• Interfacing switch and pushbuttons with arduino board
• Interfacing Infrared proximity sensor with arduino board
• Interfacing rain sensor with arduino board
• Hands-on project 3 (automated water dispenser)
• Hands-on project 4 (Rain detection system)
• DC Motor control using motor driver
• Hands on Project 5 (Robot car using a controller, Ir sensor and DC gear motor)

Robotics & Automated Systems -Level 2

This training is designed to provide further knowledge on building robots and automated systems. You will learn about more sensors and actuators and be able to use them to build more powerful robots and automated systems that are useful for homes. You will be introduced to wireless technology (Bluetooth) that will enable you to build a robot that can be controlled wirelessly. You will learn about LCD that will enable you to make your robot or automated device interactive. Course contents include:

• Sensors (Part 2)-LM35, DHT11, Track sensor, Ultrasonic sensor
• Actuators (Part 2)- servo motor, stepper motor, relays
• Microcontroller, microprocessor and development board (Part 2)
• Atmega Microcontroller pin diagram and arduino board Interfacing LCD with arduino board
• Interfacing DHT11 with arduino board
• Analog to digital conversion
• Hands-on project 1 (Temperature measurement and control using LM35)
• Interfacing ultrasonic sensor with arduino
• Hands-on project 2 (Level/distance measurement and control using ultrasonic sensor)
• Wireless communication between android phone and microcontroller using Bluetooth
• Servo motor control
• Stepper motor control
• Hands-on project 3 (Line following robot)
• Hands-on project 4 (Obstacle avoidance robot)
• Hands-on project 5 (Android phone controlled robot)
• Hands-on Project 6 (Automated trash bin using servo motor)

• Understanding robotic arm
