Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) -Level 3 [Advanced PLC & Process Control]

The main focus of this course is to introduce you to the advanced aspect of PLC wiring, programming and troubleshooting. The course covers analog signal processing. You will learn the wiring and programming of 4-20mA and 0-10V transmitters for process control using PLC. You will also learn how to use a PID controller with a pneumatic control valve for process control. Course contents include:

  • Star-Delta motor starter wiring and programming with PLC ladder logic
  • Interfacing PLC with VFD
  • Advanced ladder logic program instructions (MOV, ADD, SUB, COMP)

Human Machine Interface (HMI) -Level 1

HMI is the interface between the operator and the process or machineries in the plant. Operators monitors and control the machineries through the HMI. This course will provide the basic skill you need to get started with HMI using SIMATIC HMI. You will be introduced to HMI and learn the basics of designing and programming HMI in TIA portal using a simulator. Course contents include:

  • Introduction to HMI
  • Overview of Siemens HMI hardware
  • Installing Siemens HMI software (TIA Portal)
  • Creating a project and adding a PLC and HMI in TIA Portal

Human Machine Interface (HMI) -Level 2

This course is designed to increase your knowledge of HMI. Here, you will be working with the real HMI available at our automation lab. You will be introduced to more tools that will enhance your HMI design and development in Siemens HMI and will also be introduced to easy builder for Weintek HMI design and development. The course contents include:

  • Downloading PLC program to PLC (S7 1200)
  • Downloading HMI program to HMI (KTP 400)
  • Practical exercise (Hands-on): Interface PLC and HMI (Start & stop a mixing machine)
  • Using symbolic IO field element
  • Using graphic IO field element
  • Inserting date and time
